Billing itself as 'on the edge' geographicall creatively, organizers say the festival is 'widely regarded as a showcase for provocative work from all nooks of life and culture.' The choices, some of which are gay-themed, are 'playful' and 'adventurous,' says programming director Connie White, but also more issue-oriented than in past years, and many 'show the range of what's going on in international film-making.'
